Welcome to Mobile Ministry for Families, a compilation of resources to help children and their families connect with God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and the members and mission of Covenant Presbyterian Church. The building may be closed, but our spiritual growth continues... apart-but-together!
Sunday School Lessons from Growing in Grace & Gratitude Curriculum
Create a Home Worship Space
Have your children help create a worship space in your home. What would be included in that space? Some ideas are: Bibles, a cross, music, prayers, religious pictures or banners drawn by the children. What other items? Sit in the worship space anytime, but especially on Sunday morning during the Sunday School lesson and online Covenant worship service.
Anti-Racism Resources for Covenant Families
Have you wondered how to talk with your children about race and racial inequities? Have you wanted to better educate yourselves? We hope that Christians are trying to better understand our role in the society, and our impact (either known or unknown) contributing to these inequities.
One of the things we can do is educate ourselves and our families. There are MANY resources available to assist with this process and it is important to start discussions with your children early, even while you educate yourselves. The Children's Ministries Team pulled together a few resources that they thought might be of interest to others below.
Children and Communion
Communion is celebrated the first Sunday of every month. Covenant has an open Communion table and invites and welcomes all children to partake of the bread and grape juice. Parents and guardians decide when their children are ready to celebrate Communion. Click HERE for a copy of the Children & Communion at Covenant Presbyterian Church booklet which gives guidance for parents.

Crafts
-
Draw with sidewalk chalk on your driveway or sidewalk. Make a stained-glass window, animals, flowers, or write Alleluia!
-
Make a paper prayer chain for your worship space using a variety of recycled papers. Write prayers for families, friends, your Covenant family, and animals. Add to the prayer chain every day. How long will your prayer chain be?
-
Use Legos or other building toys to retell a Bible story. Read the Bible story and wonder how it would look. (some ideas are Noah’s Ark, the Birth of Jesus, and The Last Supper)
Mission and Outreach Ideas
Look through the church pictorial directory and have your child or children choose people to make cards for and send them. These could be drawings or notes. Be sure to include your child’s name and that your family is from Covenant Presbyterian Church
