Racists Anonymous Fellowship (RAF)
Thursdays, 7:00-8:00pm (via Zoom)

Covenant’s Racist Anonymous Fellowship continues well into it’s 4th year of weekly Zoom meetings (Thursdays 7-8pm). With our 12-step program and relevant book studies, we have been preparing our hearts and minds for the work of anti-racism and one of the Matthew 25 foci: dismantling structural racism. We all carry racial conditioning that we are unaware of, despite our frequent claims to be non-racist. As in AA, everything that is said is kept in confidence- it does not leave the Zoom room. It is a safe and welcoming space for real and heartfelt dialogue. Participating in this program also leads us to find ways of facing other challenges in our lives. Those of us who have been attending keep coming back; it is an important part of our week!

Announcing our next RAF Book Study!

Beginning January 2, 2025, we will spend four weeks via Zoom discussing Ta-Nehisi Coates' new book The Message. It is a set of three essays and is "about the urgent need to untangle ourselves from the destructive myths that shape our world -- and our own souls -- and embrace the liberating power of even the most difficult truths." This work should draw us into conversation, possible disagreement (which is okay!) and realization about some of the myths we carry in our lives. The book is available in most bookstores, and there is an audio version available as well.

If you are interested, please contact Jennifer Morgan to receive the weekly emails. Anyone is welcome at any time!

Racists Anonymous Fellowship is a fellowship of individuals seeking to achieve personal recovery from racist habits and the effects of racism. Its purpose is to help individuals address their own role in the sin and addiction of racism. If the season calls for it, there will be a book study or similar events.
