First Time: What to Expect

What time is worship?

Most of the year, we have two services. At 9:00am, we have our New Day Service, which is a more contemporary, piano-led worship experience; and at 11:00am we have our Traditional, organ-led service. Between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend, we only have one service that begins at 9:30am. During this time, worship services alternate between piano and organ-led music. All Sunday services are livestreamed on our YouTube channel each Sunday! For more information about worship, click here.

What attire is expected?

On a typical Sunday, you will see a wide array of style here at Covenant. However, most of our members dress fairly casual. A nice pair of jeans or slacks, paired with a blouse, polo, or button up shirt are common to see Sunday mornings.

What options are there for parking?

We have a large off-street parking lot available, which faces our main entrance.

Are LGBTQIA individuals and couples welcome in your church?

YES! We welcome families of all kinds at Covenant. We strive to provide a welcoming and safe environment for all people, regardless of their sexual orientation and gender identity, and invite them to fully participate in ministry with us.

Is your building handicap accessible?

For accessibility, we have a drop-off area directly out front of our main entrance, which has power-assisted doors. We also have an elevator located to the side of the gathering space outside of the sanctuary, which provides easy access to the lower level of the church.

What can my child do during worship?

We have a variety of options to help parents keep their children occupied during our worship services. During each service, we have a children’s time to help teach about the morning’s scripture lesson. Following the children’s time, we have Kaleidoscope Worship Education for 3-year-olds to first graders, to help educate them about the different parts of worship.

Additional resources for families include Children’s Worship Bags, located at the Welcome Center, which contain paper, colored pencils, bookmarks, and small hand-held games. We also have a lounge off the back of the sanctuary with a table and drawing materials, books, and other quiet activities for children. The lounge is complete with a speaker that allows parents to still hear the worship service when accompanying their children. For more information on children in worship, please click here.

What care options are there for my younger child?

Parents are invited to bring their children to our nursery, in Room C101 (located in the lower level of the building). Parents are asked to sign their children in, with beepers available to them in case a special need arises with their child. During the program year, the nursery is open from 8:45am to 12:15pm; and 9:15am to 10:45am from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend. For more information about our nursery, click here.

There is also a baby comfort station in the lounge, which provides a space for parents to feed and care for their babies. And changing tables and available in our family restrooms, which can be found just before the lounge on the main level, and in the Christian Education Wing on the lower level.
